Chile’s prime geographical location makes it vulnerable to several earthquakes and tsunamis each year. Poor constructed houses from lower income families are the most affected by these natural disasters. This issue is particularly significant in Chile as it´s one of themost unequal countries in the world. The idea is to create awareness in the higher economic sectors and show the reality that poorer people face after a natural disaster, simultaneously exposing how many houses have been lost in the last couple years.
To do this, Lego will place several interactive installations in different malls of said rich zones, intended to make people play and help rebuild a model of emergency housing (aka Mediaguas) together. Our exhibition will also encourage people to donate and sign up for volunteering with Techo, the biggest disaster-reconstruction organization in the country.
